  • He Giveth More Grace

"He giveth more grace as the burdens grow greater; He sendeth more strength when the labors increase.

To added afflictions he addeth his mercy, to multiplied trials his multiplies peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance, when our strength has failed ere the day is half done.

When we reach the end of our hoarded resources, our Father's full  giving  has only begun.

                 His love has no limit, His grace has no measure, His power no boundary known unto men;

For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth and giveth again and again.

An orphan and  an invalid who lived her days in bed with several pillows propping her body to fight bedsores ,Annie Flint Johnson, authored these words. How true they are to those experiencing pain or trials.

  • My Day With Jay

Saturday Jay spent the day at our house since Gabriel had to work and Ayla was still in the hospital.  He and I had a lovely day hiking the Garden of Eden trail in Bristol.  I was so proud of him; he made it all the way to the Appalachicola bluffs! ( 3 mi.round trip)  He was decked out in camo and carried his binoculars the whole way up and back even though we didn't see any cool wildlife :(

We stopped by the stream and had  peanut butter and jelly with crackers. Of course we had to wade in the water :)  It felt soo good :)  Eventually I took up to writing in my journal and he kept wading. He kept asking, "What are you writing about?" On the way home, he mentioned something cool we saw on our hike and said, "You should write about that :)"

Recently my friend (Ally) gave me a plaque that says, "Faith is taking the first step even when you don't  see the whole staircase." (Martin Luther King Jr).  A  couple of days ago, my Grandpa died and now he DOES see the whole staircase.  No he can look back and say, "Oh, that's what God was doing!"  I hope like my granpa my faith will be unwavering and my hope expectant. "I miss you, Grandpa, and I'm forever grateful for the time spent with you!"

  • Family pictures have been long overdue and with 9 (well 10 now) grandchildren all under the age of 6, it can be a challenging task. Twila Henry was super at getting some nice pictures. We started out at the M&B  train in Blountstown and then took some pictures down on  the bike path as well.

This is Carrie Jo, Jay, Burkely, Tyler, Ayla, Weston, Judah, Forrest, and Josiah.  And no, the bad aunt does not have all their ages :)

    Tallahassee

After passing state boards, my Dad said I could choose to do something special!  I've always wanted to go to some of the historic and beautiful places of  Florida's capitol  city so I promptly went online and  got some directions, tourist info, etc.  And here is what we got to see...

Tallahassee's Old Capitol Building... and the New Capitol Building directly behind it.

A picture (through the glass) of  the room our  Senate currently convenes in when in session...

General "Stonewall" Jackson was the first to greet us as we walked into the Senate lobby...makes me wonder how the senators feel  as they walk by the great historical American figures  on their way to work...

This picture is for my mom...she used to work in Tallahassee as a telephone operator so this is the  stomping grounds of her youth :)  I think it is on of the most beautiful areas of Tally with all the old buildings!

We had lunch at  Jasmine's Cafe.  The food was great, and by the replacement of chopsticks for silverware on the tables, it was definitely a place for serious sushi eaters and Asian cuisine geeks :)  After lunch, we walked to the IMAX theatre...

To end the day, we visited Ally at her work and added some worthwhile calories for the day :) (Those pastries are absolutely gorgous! ) Then we stopped by Fresh Market where I got some coveted mangos.  Yumm!  ...Ahh...I think I could live in Tallahassee :)
